Welcome to Taxini – South Africa’s trusted platform for rating and reviewing taxi drivers. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, mobile app, and services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using Taxini, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Definitions

  • “We”, “Us”, “Our” – Refers to Taxini and its operating team.

  • “User”, “You”, “Your” – Refers to the person accessing or using the platform.

  • “Driver” – Refers to any public taxi or minibus taxi driver rated on the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Taxini. By using the platform, you confirm that:

  • You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts.

  • You provide accurate, honest, and up-to-date information.

3. Platform Purpose

Taxini is designed to:

  • Allow passengers to rate and review taxi drivers based on their travel experiences.

  • Improve taxi service standards across South Africa by promoting transparency and accountability.

  • Show users nearby taxi ranks and relevant taxi-related information.

Note: Taxini does not offer transport services. It only serves as a review and information platform.

4. User Conduct

By using the platform, you agree not to:

  • Post false, defamatory, abusive, or offensive content.

  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate any individual or driver.

  • Upload reviews based on hearsay or second-hand information.

  • Misuse location or identity features.

  • Interfere with platform functionality (e.g., hacking, spamming).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access for violations of these rules.

5. Reviews and Ratings

  • All reviews must be honest, based on personal experiences, and free from hate speech or bias.

  • We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove reviews that violate our content policy or community standards.

  • Repeated abuse of the review system may result in account suspension.

6. Location-Based Services

We use your location (with permission) to:

  • Show nearby taxi ranks.

  • Help match your review to the relevant driver and area.

Your location is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Account Information and Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

  • Do not share your password or allow others to use your account.

  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or security breach.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the platform (logos, design, text, graphics, etc.) is owned or licensed by Taxini and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without prior written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

Taxini is provided “as is” without any warranties. We are not responsible for:

  • The behaviour of taxi drivers or users.

  • Any damages, injuries, or losses arising from your use of the platform.

  • Inaccurate or outdated information posted by users.

You use the platform at your own risk.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account without notice if you:

  • Violate these Terms

  • Abuse the platform

  • Submit false or malicious content

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on our website with the effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes implies your acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
